Reel Around The Fountain

It’s time that the tale were told, of how you took a team and you made them good……oh….you made them good”.

These are specially adapted UEFA Cup Final lyrics from that Manchester band called The Smiths.  Hang on; did I say Manchester and Smith in the same sentence?  Wow, another one of the UEFA Cup Final coincidences…spooky.
(For your information there’s a fountain in Manchester’s Piccadilly Gardens,…… if you feel like a reel around it after the final).

However that’s not the only spooky musical connection to Manchester which could indicate a Rangers victory - who remembers the Oasis hit named after our semi-final penalty hero……‘Champagne SuperNovo’ anyone?

So you see, even musically this is a fitting destination to stage a final against our old gaffer.

Well bad gags aside, every main event needs a warm up act and look no further than RangersTV for that.  As you would expect we will be THE number 1 place for all the up-to-date team information.   If you want build-up….if you want to get into the mood for Wednesday night then keep it RangersTV.   That’s what I’m doing as I certainly will not be watching the usual TV or sticking to the same dull routine.  This is European final week.   It’s historic and we’ve waited 36 years for it so I’m turning the entire week over to the Light Blues.  What are you doing?  This is what we’re up to;

Not only will we be giving you the very latest from the Ibrox camp on Monday’s Ibrox Uncovered and again on Tuesday (7.30pm), but later on Tuesday night at 10.15pm, we will be broadcasting a special pre-match Bluebells Phone-in, live from Glasgow AND Manchester. …that’s right, we’ll be live in Manchester or as it will be known by then, Glaschester.

It’s your chance to talk to some Rangers legends of the past about potential Rangers legends of the future.
It’s a live phone-in on the eve of battle for you to have your say on how we got here and what Walter and the boys can do to overcome the wily Dick Advocaat and his impressive St. Petersburg team.

And finally, what about an aperitif to whet the appetite…may I suggest probably one of our finest European moments.  It’sMatchnight Europe at 5.15pm on Tuesday eveningand of course it’s Rangers v Leeds from October 1992.

You see, that’s what I’m talking about – this week you can totally immerse yourself in all things Rangers and forget all about the usual diet of depressive news and even more depressive soaps.  Credit crunch?  Let’s credit the lads with getting us to this crunch game on Wednesday…now here’s our news….

This just in…….

………there will be a special pre-match Bluebells phone-in on Tuesday night at 10.15pm…. Matchnight Europe, Rangers v Leeds, Tuesday 5.15pm and Ibrox Uncovered at 7.30pm Monday and Tuesday night.

And the weather…

….bright sunny spells over the south side for most of the summer with gloom descending everywhere else.  Nice.
